In this context, a large number of voters' education activities have been taken up in the state to popularize electoral participation. This observance of National Voters' Day is mainly to inspire new & young voters to utilize their voting rights.” Ms Sidhu also informed: “The commission also launched a campaign to reach out to the newly eligible (18+) electors and to register them in the revision of electoral rolls. As a result many of youth in the 18-19 age group have been enrolled and the number of voters in Punjab has gone up much in comparison to electors in the corresponding period last year." Appealing to all LPU students, whether from Punjab or any other state and who do not have voting rights, she asked them to make an immediate access to the nodal officer deputed for the campus to have their Voter Identity Cards: “Each and every one of you is important and make use of this opportunity. You all matter much to the country.
