·NEST becomes 4th largest entrance test in India after JEE, AIPMT & EAMCET
·LPU NEST-2014 will be conducted online in more than 100 locations across India
Jalandhar: More than three lakh (3,00,000 plus) students from all across India have already registered for LPU Entrance test- NEST (National Eligibility and Scholarship) 2014. LPU NEST test is 4th largest entrance test of India (including all government & private tests) after JEE, AIPMT & EAMCET (Andhra Pradesh). For the first time, a test for admission to engineering programs of any of the Indian private universities is being conducted on such a large scale. The NEST will be conducted in more than 100 locations across India from the month of April onwards. The scores of the test will be considered as eligibility for admission to engineering programs, and for scholarship up to Rs 4 Lac per student as per scholarship policy of the university.
Informing more about the test, LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal said: “LPU entrance test is the largest test organised so far by any of the educational institution of India. To add to our initiatives, we have started with conduction of LPU NEST test for students of near 2000 schools of the country. We feel proud that such a large number of students, not only from North but from across India have registered for the test. In the coming years, we will make certain additions to the test conduction so that it may become more accessible to a larger student-community.” Mr Mittal added: “We are conducting the tests online keeping in view the convenience of students. In this regard, university has deployed a strong software and back-end mechanism to provide flexibility in dates and time schedule to the students going to take the test.”
LPU NEST is one of the eligibility tests for admission to all engineering programs in LPU for session 2014-15. Student qualifying LPU NEST will be exempted from appearing in other eligibility tests conducted for admissions. The test will be consisted of 90 multiple choice questions objective in nature & to be answered in 120 minutes. There will be 30 questions each for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology, and medium for the entrance test will be English. Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply for test and students should have either completed or shall be appearing in the final examination of 10+2, in 2014.
