Bollywood-Stars romanticized ‘One World’ & ‘SAUFEST’at LPU Campus

  • Stars and students presented thunderous performances on both western & classical melodies
  • Students learnt about Chinese Dragon dance, French Cancan, Mexican Hat Dance, Spanish Flamenco, in addition to Mohiniyattam, Kathak, Kuchpudi and others  
Jalandhar:  Renowned bollywood stars Jackie Bhagnani and Neha Sharma energized the fourth day of One World & SAUFEST at LPU, when both presented thunderous & fiery performances on western and classical melodies.  In tune with the spirit of the fests, international as well as national students danced along with the actors.  The visiting actors also enjoyed the ‘One World’ Expo, tasted international foods prepared by students, rode elephants to roam on the campus, interacted with the students and later on performed to entertain all participants of the fests.
The lead actors of film ‘Youngistaan’ forwarded great message to many thousand students from 28 countries and all Indian states. Congratulating the students for successful ongoing of the fests, Jackie said: “ I prefer to act for varied roles of country's youth  to promote them to be honest, sincere, imaginative, constructive, selfless, honest and above all self-confident. Students should identify their worth to be global leaders.”  Similarly, Neha Sharma asked girl-students to shun hesitations and to succeed on to high pedestals of their choice.
Being the day of ‘Dance Shows’, students  performed for Chinese Dragon dance, French Cancan, Mexican Hat Dance, Spanish Flamenco, in addition to classical Mohiniyattam, Kathak, Kuchipudi and various other forms.  When the Asian students performed on European dances and national students on cross- nations dance genres, the aim of the festivals was highlighted & seemed to be achieved. The students also enjoyed the Fest-Expo, relished different dishes at Food Carnival, bought typical ornaments, decorative pieces, dress-attributes of other countries than their own.
One of the international students from China, Fu Jia Qi, revealed: “This celebration means much to me as it has created great interest in me for varied forms of dances and different cultures. Now I have good knowledge about many folk and tribal dances of different countries.” Another student from Tamil Nadu, Nandini Chandrasekhran said that the way the dancers twist with vitality has made me realize that all our actions should be full of energy.
