Eighty-Day long Open Intra-University Competition ‘Magnitude’ inaugurated at LPU

  • Near 5000 national & international LPU students from different departments of the university will participate in different competitions
  • 200 competitions ranging from cultural to literary are planned 

Jalandhar:  Creating the biggest competitive platform for talented students of the university, Lovely Professional University has endeavoured to organize 80-day long Open Intra-University Competition ‘Magnitude’. After magnanimous inauguration, competitions in different fields will continue up to the mid of November 2014. The event is proving to be a unified annual property of the university with more than 200 competitions in cultural, technical, literary and allied activities. Near 5000 national & international students from different departments of the university will participate in different competitions. Mammoth congregation of student fraternity will not only have knowledge and fun based lifetime experience, but many of them will also be selected for national and international level competitions.
Each day is going to witness great evenings with roaring performances. On the inaugural day students performances for the event included four fashion shows themed on professions, folk, ethnic and western styles; rap singing, presentations by university bands-Nirvighn & FOG (Flare of God); western solo singing & dancing; international band performance; group dancing; Sufi and other presentations.

Encouraging students from all states of India & 26 countries to participate voluntarily, LPU Director General Er HR Singla said: "Many of the students have one or the other talent to do things beyond their regular academic lessons. Our university wants that youth energy should be properly channelized by unraveling the hidden talents of one and the all. This is why an eighty-day event has been chalked out in diverse fields to make maximum of the extraordinary students showcase their individual innovative talent and get exposure to further excel.”

Illustrative, fashion-shows based on dresses and props of different states of India, short film making, choreography, quiz competitions, rock band competition, Indian folk dances, theatre- skills, photography, sketching, and painting will enthrall all other student-audiences. No auditions are required for any of the technical, literary, quiz, photography competitions. However, short-listing shall be for music, dance, theatre and film production category and mega cultural competitions. For technical competitions students will show their skills for many of the interesting competitions.
