Jalandhar: Being alert on the unwanted consumption of drugs and other intoxicants among youth of the state, Lovely Professional University rose to its Corporate Social Responsibility and organised an alarming ‘Walk against Drug-abuse’. Hundreds of LPU students actively participated in the 5 kilo meter long in campus walk rally. Carrying placards & banners with slogans describing the ills of the drugs, students awakened all onlookers to say complete no to drugs. Most of the students were also having their faces painted depicting the havoc could be caused through drug-usage. On this occasion, a Drug abuse Eradication program- ‘Bodh’ was also organized under the banner of multi-faceted socio-spiritual organization ’Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan’.
LPU Executive Dean Dr Sanjay Modi flagged-off the walk-rally and asked youth, in his sensitizing lecture, to do away with social nuisance erupted through drugs. Students also took a whole-hearted pledge to ever remain away from the life-ruining effects of the drugs. A few days back hundreds of students from LPU distance education programs had also strongly vowed to safeguard themselves and the society against drug abuse. Illustrative, LPU is regularly working towards social reformation and welfare of the communities, through its student-volunteers and different departments.
