Five-day Global Open Fest- “YOUTH VIBE- 2014” inaugurated at LPU.

To celebrate youth energy of all the Indian states and different continents for next four days; Global Open Fest- ‘YOUTH VIBE- 2014’ was inaugurated at Lovely Professional University today.  Thousands of participating talented students to the fest lend liveliness to inaugural celebration by dancing non-stop on mingled melodies for five hours. This mirthful congregation served as a trailer to the forthcoming competitions on the following days. Hon’ble Governor of Punjab Shri Shivraj V Patil & the US Governor of South Carolina Ms Nikky Haley will be the Chief Guests on different days. Live concert Coke Studio from MTV will entertain massive student-community on the penultimate day.  Popular TV show of Bollywood actor Aamir Khan ‘Satymev Jayte’ fame-music composer and singer Ram Sampat will perform and sing. “Ambarsaria Mundiyaa Ve” song fame Sona Mohapatra will also be another star attraction. Adding to the grandeur of the fest, Miss Asia Pacific World 2013 - Shristi Rana will judge models in the Youth Vibe fashion show and the winner will get direct entry to the final round of Miss India 2015( Mumbai).


Commencing with the Youth Vibe anthem “When we say”; the passionate student-fraternity saw folk dances of Nepal, Andhra, Himachal, Punjab, Bhutan, Burundi, Sri Lanka and western dances by different groups of national and international students. Fashion shows based on the themes of ‘International’ & ‘Incredible India’ added more charm to the opening ceremony. Tomorrow, the fest will witness 25 competitions. For cultural event competitions will be mainly as Rhythm, Dancing Soul, Nritya Natraj, Rainbow, the Permanent, the Quill Art Marathon, Folkhingam, Folk Alley, Darbaar. For Literary & Media events, the competitions are as Lord of the Words, Sansad, Tag It, Aditivity, and Sportica- Sports Quiz. Technical events will have Web Builder, Circuitry, Mixvis, Dark Horse and more. Management events will be mainly for B- Plan.

Welcoming participating and organizing students, LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal inspired students to prove themselves the best: “We are very happy to see the massive participation of students not only from India but other nations also. This confluence of varied cultures and talents will indeed teach much to the growing minds.  We think this is the real learning to co-exist in this world of extreme diversities. In fact, on the unified inter-national level platform of ‘Youth-vibe’ celebration, extraordinary students will add more wings to their aspirations to reach directly to contests like Miss India, India’s Got Talent and many others.” Advising students, Chancellor Mittal asked students: “Compete with innovativeness and creativity without bothering about victory or defeat.  We want each and every student should get equal chance to reveal his/her inner self. This is the reason we have allowed our distance education students to compete this time.”

Illustrative, commencing from today, “YOUTH VIBE- 2014” will continue up to 15th November. This mega campus festivity is to witness more than 5000 contestants performing before huge audience of students. The event is for more than 100 competitions in cultural, management, technical, literary, social, sports and allied activities. Students will gain knowledge, lifetime experience, and golden chance to win cash prizes of Rs 20 Lac. Winners in singing, dancing and theatre competitions will get direct entrance to audition round for ‘India’s Got Talent’-a famous program of Colors Channel. International food & fun carnival, rock- shows, celebrity- visits, KTM-Bike stunt, and tech exhibitions will add more to the celebration.
