Lovely Professional University had been hosting three-day Punjab School Education Board’s Zonal level co-curricular competitions since 11th November 2014. These competitions concluded at the campus today. Board’s competitions were held for 18 events including those for Shabd Gayan, Lok-Naach, War Gayan, Malwai Gidha, Kavishari, Gatka and more. For these, about 3000 school students from more than 200 schools of the zone competed at different stages of LPU.
Illustrative, it is the third time that LPU has been entrusted by PSEB to host its mammoth conduction of competitions. In the evening, LPU Director General Er HR Singla awarded the school- winners with trophies and certificates. Held annually at block, district, regional and state levels, these school activities also have due ‘academic weight-age’ for the participants.
School students were seen very happy on projecting their talents before an audience of the largest university of India. Manisha, Shivani, Kuljeet Kaur of SN Public Sr Sec School of Ludhiana who participated in Giddha competitions told: “These competitions have provided us much confidence. Moreover, being at the stage of LPU, the largest university of India, we are considering ourselves very lucky.”
