- Students showcased more than 1000 enthralling art creations in all genre

Department of Fine Arts at Lovely Professional University organized its annual art exhibition ‘Creative Contour-2014’. This art exhibition showcased over 1000 artworks imagined, designed and created by the university students. These creations were in different fields of the art forms including wood carvings, charcoal drawings, sculpting, fabric painting, sketching, graphic designs, paper-machie works, wastage turned into the best, clay-modelling, floor-painting and more. This year, the most applauded works remained expressive faces carved out of wood; advertisement for social networking; and, book illustrations. Going deep in between the colours, curves of the message oriented art works, students proved themselves as proven author, artist, photographer, sculptor, and graphic designer. It was an open exhibition where even students from the departments of technology, sciences, pharmacy and other also participated.
Students displayed their area of expertise under unique styles. Wood carvings for faces, fish, mother & child mesmerized all on-lookers as special shaping, polishing, and varnishing added life to the wood. Through social advertisement students tried to awaken parents and elder ones to let their wards pursue study programs of students own preferences and passions. Students’ book illustrations presented mythological and historical sagas including Krishna & Kansa, Alibaba & Chalis Chor, Ashoka the Great and more with interesting designs & depictions. In addition, Metal craft, poster making, photography, typography, 3-D modeling, pottery designing also added more luster to the exhibition. After display at department’s gallery & studios, these artistic creations will further be displayed at different places to let the creative students earn more accolades from on-lookers of different categories.
Appreciating the talent of the creative students, LPU Pro Chancellor Mrs Rashmi Mittal said: “I am happy to note that the creative students have showcased their learning like master artists. Some of the pieces are so life-like that one gets wonder-struck to look at the combinations of colours and materials used. Students have really put in practice what they have learnt in their classes through their teachers. Indeed, students have come out with innovation and creation. We will try our level best to make arrangements for showcasing of such splendid creations not only on state but national level also.”
Illustrative, the department of Fine Arts at LPU is a channel to explore students’ imagination and creativity. It offers all innovative programs, and directs students to develop their talent under the guidance of experts. It tinkers them to later on take up the bright career as Art Director, Illustrator in Publishing, Web Designing, Cartoonist, Set Designer, Freelancer Artist, Art Critic, Editor and more.
