April 25, 2015: Dr. Subhash Chandra, Chairman, Essel Group and ZEE, today addressed over 4,000 students of Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar for the next episodes of the popular youth show - Dr. Subhash Chandra (DSC) Show. The DSC Show has successfully completed 34 episodes travelling to various cities across India, including Mumbai, Noida, Kolkata, Jaipur, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Ghaziabad, Pune and now Jalandhar. Lovely Group Chairman Mr Ramesh Mittal, Vice-Chairman Mr Naresh Mittal, LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal, Pro Chancellor Mrs Rashmi Mittal welcomed  Dr Chandra and his team at the campus and presented the memento to him.

President of Mauritius becomes the first Non Indian president to visit Wagah Border

The President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr. Rajeswur Prayag is presently visiting India along with his wife to attend the convocation ceremony at Lovely Professional University, Punjab. After landing at Amritsar International Airport today morning, the President went to pay obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib in the afternoon along with Mr. Ashok Mittal, Chancellor, LPU. He went for the parikrma and listened to the kirtan for some time. He was presented a Siropa by the SGPC. He said he had heard a lot about Sri Harmandir Sahib and is feeling happy and at peace today after paying obeisance.

LPU distributed Rs Five Lakh among Solar Cars Competition Winners

  • Occasion was premier collegiate engineering competition ‘Indo Asian Solar Challenge (IASC)-2015’ held at LPU Campus
  • Finally selected 34 teams from across India applied all engineering concepts in designing prototype Solar Race-cars
  • LPU had also put its ‘All Women’ team to compete in the so called men’s event

LPU Student represented India at 12th West Asia Baseball Cup held in Pakistan

  • LPU student & his team brought bronze medal for the country
Becoming an historic part of the debutant Indian National Baseball Team, LPU student Rakesh Kumar of MA Political Science won bronze medal in 12th West Asia Baseball Cup Tournament.  The matches were held at Jinnah Stadium in the capital city- Islamabad of Pakistan. Playing as a pitcher, LPU student played skillfully along with other team members to register a 20-0 defeat over Iraq for securing bronze medal.  Team of Pakistan won the cup; whereas team of Iran got silver medal. Presently, LPU student is to attend a selection camp to represent India for international tournaments to be held in South Korea.
