During vivid live musical concert more than 20 fantastic performances were presented by the stars at Campus Stage. Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment in India Mr Vijay Sampla and Chief Parliamentary Secretary Local Bodies, Government of Punjab, Mr Som Parkash were also present on the occasion. Lovely Professional University students Alok Mallik (Mechanical Engineering) & Uday Ranjan (Computer Science Engineering) have invented mechanical power efficiency increasing system ‘Power Amplifier’.  On the mechanical lines, this invention of LPU students will help common men a lot by enabling them to go for almost double the mileage of their vehicles. In the fields of electrical and electronics, utilization of this invention will reduce the electricity bills to half the existing amount. In fact, LPU students’ mechanical power transmitting system is to increase the efficiency of all motor operated things be it cars, fridge, fans, pumps, air conditioners etc. Even space sector kings- NASA & ISRO can utilize it for less consumption of fuels in rocketing processes. In a way, counted benefits of this invention are more mileage, less investment, less electricity consumption, low power source required and other. The prototype device has been duly tested and certified for more than 100% mechanical power efficiency by an NSIC & ISO approved company of Haryana State in India. LPU inventor-students have already applied for provisional patent to government of India. Congratulating the innovative students LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal said: “We are glad to note that LPU students are proving their worth to the world as great researchers.”

Kanjli Wetland Proposal enabled LPU Agriculture Students to win Water Resources Management Competition

  • 13 teams from the educational institutions of the region were shortlisted for this competition
  • After possible win at national level in 2016 in New Delhi, LPU students are poised to compete internationally in Germany 
  • Competition is a call to Indian Youth to take the lead in solving India’s water problems
Students from the School of Agriculture of Lovely Professional University have won Inter-University Regional Competition on Water Resources Management for their proposal on floating Island approach for sustainable development of Kanjli wetland (in District Kapurthala, Punjab). LPU team’s proposal was highly appreciated by the masses and judges.  Teams further selected on national level will work on the proposal with the help of experts from India and Germany. Through this project, students are expected to develop a multi-stakeholder understanding of the need for Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM). Winning team in nationals will receive awards worth of Rs 14 Lakh, research stays, internship opportunities and grants to support the project.

On the conclusive day of LPU School of Business’ international conference on ‘Strategies for Global Competitiveness and Economic Growth’, experts from many countries including USA, UAE, Iraq, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and different states of India forwarded concerns and solutions simultaneously.  During six technical sessions and a Webinar held on two days, numerous important research papers were presented to awaken the young business students of the university and those of globe over. Initiating the second day of the conference through Webinar, Former Director at California State University USA, Prof CE Tapie Rohm Jr presented a comparative study of USA, India, Russia and China. Underlining areas of agriculture, industry, information, services and more, USA academic leader hinted through graphical demonstrations that India is in great transitional phase and technology is a key to help it for this global technology transitional period.

 As the world economy is going through a difficult phase, Lovely Professional University has risen to the occasion by organizing an international conference on ‘Strategies for Global Competitiveness and Economic Growth’. Through its ACBSP accredited School of Business, LPU has brought together experts from different disciplines and part of the world at the conference to discuss diverse issues and strategies. The issues include sluggish growth in developed economies; conflict of interests between developing and developed world; regional economic strains & armed conflicts; challenging international economic cooperation and more. In the Conference 200+ papers in 55 sub topics under would be discussed during different sessions on both the days. Head of the League of Arab States Mission Hon’ble Dr Mazin Al-Masoudi inaugurated the opening session of the conference today. On this occasion, an International Journal and a Book, containing important research papers concerning the conference, were also released.

Society for Automotive Engineering-Northern India Section(SAENIS) and Lovely Professional University have collaborated to host SAE India’s eco-friendly national event ‘EFFICYCLE 2015’ in October 2015. SAE is a national body for the automobile engineers and has been working with individuals from top automobile community including engineers, executives and academicians since 2002. Effi-cycle is annual national event which is to promote renewable and alternative energy usage. During the event, a huge participation of 101 student-teams from across India will showcase students’ vehicle mobility expertise.

Lovely Professional University student Avinash Mishra recalled great motivating moments he shared twice with Mr Sundar Pichai-the new CEO of world's largest search engine ‘Google’. Forwarding greetings to Mr Pichai, Avinash says: “I am fortunate that I saw and talked to Mr Pichai being very close to him on two occasions of Google I/O conference in San Francisco (USA). Mr Pichai is very soft-spoken, impressive and one of the most respected people in the technology industry. His rise to the top post in Google automatically confirms his inner qualities of technology, innovation and managerial expertise. I want Indian youth should be motivated by Mr Pichai’s success and so I am recalling all those great inspiring moments. LPU hosted Ten-Day NCC Camp


  • Near 440 NCC Cadets from 43 Colleges & Schools of Doaba Region participated 
Lovely Professional University hosted ten-day annual NCC campus of 2nd Punjab Girls NCC Battalion at its campus. Near 440 NCC cadets, from different colleges and schools of the Doaba region attended the camp. NCC cadets from 8th, 12th and 21st NCC battalions were also included in this camp. Organized from 3rd to 12th August, the camp inculcated among cadets the importance of duty and discipline. NCC cadets were imparted training in handling weapons, drill, signals, map reading, first aid, national integration, civil defence, ecology, leadership and more. Cultural and seminar activities were also held at two much capacity auditoriums of LPU on different days.

These biggest names in Punjabi entertainment world rocked LPU students during presenting great Punjabi heritage and culture in high rhythmic forms. Students kept singing, swaying, stamping and shrieking throughout five-hour long concert to be further telecasted by a famous Punjabi channel later on. Crossblade is the largest Punjabi Musical Tour in the country, and is held at different locations throughout the country.

Bollywood stars got amazingly enchanted to see a great sea of bubbling youth at LPU Campus and entertained students with chosen dialogue-deliveries, dances, acting skills from famous films of theirs. American National Basketball Association’s (NBA’s) first India-born player Satnam Bhamara inspired LPU Students

  • Landing only yesterday in India after his big nomination for NBA team, Satnam had his first interaction with LPU students
The day today remained very inspiring and enthralling for LPU new students when 7 feet 2 inches tall & only 20 years old American National Basketball Association’s (NBA’s) first India-born player Satnam Singh Bhamara interacted with them. The towering presence of Bhamara was amazingly enchanting for thousands of freshmen at LPU which unfolded different phases of his struggle and success in a very young age. The tall hoopster from Punjab Bhamara presently plays for a professional basketball team of USA ‘the Dallas Mavericks’ (Mavs). He is one of the 91 players nominated as early entry candidates for the 2015 NBA Draft. At 15+ years of age, he had become the youngest player to represent India at the 26th Asian Basketball Championship in China in 2011.

Last date of admission for different study programs at Lovely Professional University is 10th August, 2015. This last date is for admissions in all programs except for the programs in education & physical education students.  Thousands of students from all states of India & 30 countries including China, South Africa, Malaysia and more have already taken admission in program of their choice. Though LPU scholarship program is over, the post-matric scholarship is available for SC/OBC candidates, as per present central & state government policies.  It is also to be noted that last date of admission for education and physical education programs is 25th August without scholarship; whereas, with scholarship it is also 10th August 2015.
