3000 LPU students showcased their talent for 30 Competitions at Spectra-2015

  • Occasion was the second day of annual cultural fest for competitions in music, dance, theatre, literary & fine arts events

The second day of 3-day annual talent finding competitive cultural fest of Lovely Professional University ‘SPECTRA 2015’ witnessed today 30 massive competitions for which  3000 LPU students showcased their viable talent. The annual event is for competitions in music, dance, theatre, literary & fine arts categories till 16th October 2015. Acclaimed Judges from the related event category and industry are evaluating participants’ performances. One of the judges, music director Mr RK Bassi has promised singing competition winner student to launch a music album with the student within 15 days.  Fun filled competitive fiesta is not only entertaining the students but also enlightening & enhancing their competitive spirit.  Thousands of other on-looking students also enjoyed unique cuisines at food stalls raised by different departments of LPU. Tomorrow, more competitions will be held under 20 titles and these will be followed by prize distribution ceremony.

Under music category competitions were held for Classical Vocal, Instrumental (Percussion), Instrumental (Non-Percussion), Virsa: Folk Group Singing, Indian Group Song & Duet Singing– Folk. For dance competitive title were Nritya Natraj: Semi/classical, Just Duet: Classical / Semi Classical, Just Duet: Folk Dance, Folkhingam: International Group Dance, Dancing Soul : Folk and Virasat: Folk Group Dance. Kal, Aaj Aur Kal: the Skit, Beat Boxing, Nakalchee: the Mimicry, Mime, Quiz Prelim, Creative writing, and Lord of the Words: Spell Bee competitions were categorized for ‘Theatre’. Literary event had single competition-The Perspective: Elocution. Competitions for Spot Painting, Cartooning, Photography, Rangoli, 3D Rangoli &Doodling, Poster Making, Collage Making, and Installation marked Fine Arts. Chaupal: The Street Play, Rock Band show and Down The street: Street Dance attracted on lookers immensely.
