LPU cultural fest ‘Spectra’ opened with Odissi dance Maestro Kavita Dwibedi’s enthralling performance

Three-day annual talent finding competitive cultural festival ‘SPECTRA 2015’ opened today at Lovely Professional University through SPIC MACAY classical performance by Odissi dance expert Kavita Dwibedi. The annual event is scheduled to hold massive competitions in music, dance, theatre, literary & fine arts up to 16th October 2015. The competitions are to identify the best cultural talent among the students of different LPU departments, even other than performing & fine arts departments including those of engineering, sciences, pharmacy, architecture. Near 3000 participating students organized a talent caravan throughout the campus as a cultural procession.


Participants witnessed enthralling classical Odissi dance performance at densely packed Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium of the university. Inaugurating the annual fest, LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal said: “I feel proud on seeing mesmerizing Odissi dance performance by an authority on this dance genre, Mrs Kavita Dwibedi. Such performances, indeed, provide great imbibing to our students.” Mr Mittal further informed: “This annual competition is to find out the best talent, and is to encompass everything for enhancement of Indian culture among them.”
