- Phase 1 of the 5th Convocation will be held on 31st October 2015
- More than 12,000 Regular and Distance Education students of 2015 batch will receive degrees and diplomas
5th Convocation of Lovely Professional University is scheduled for Saturday, 31st October 2015 at 11 am. Prime Minister of Lesotho Kingdom Dr Pakalitha Bethuel Mosisili will be the Chief Guest at the Convocation. More than 12,000 Regular and Distance Education students of 2015 batch will receive degrees and diplomas. PM Mosisili will also honour gold medalists and toppers of various LPU academic programs. On the same day, ‘Honoris Causa’ Doctorate Degree of LPU will also be conferred up on PM Mosisili.
Born in 1945, the 70 years old PM Dr Mosisili is a former university lecturer and a firm believer in democratic set ups in political arena. After serving people by being on different coveted ministerial positions, he is presently ruling Lesotho Kingdom as its PM. For bringing a great change, he is following ‘Lesotho Secret’ that is “in democracy people are always right, just like customers in a business; even they are wrong, they are still right”. Second-time serving people of Lesotho as PM, Dr Mosisili previously served from May 1998 to June 2012.
LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal informed: “We invite great national and international personalities at the campus to inspire students. The 5th Convocation of LPU is also having big dimensions as Hon’ble PM of Lesotho Kingdom will be addressing students with his words of wisdom and great experiences. This is, indeed, a great honour for us third time in a row that a distinguished Head of a Country has accepted our invitation to be the chief guest at LPU convocation. We also congratulate and invite parents/ guardians of the degree recipients to be part of this rare & memorable occasion to see their ward receiving gold medals and degrees from the Hon'ble Chief Guest.”
During two phases of the 5th convocation of LPU near 20,100 regular and distance education students will receive degrees and diplomas. Along with Ph.D Scholars 24 gold medalists and 173 toppers will also be honoured at both the phases. The schedule of the Phase II will be announced later on.
