Early Cancer Detection & Education Campaign organized at LPU

  • ‘World Cancer Care Charity’ (WCCC) & LPU School of Physiotherapy & Paramedical Sciences collaborated intensive efforts
  • 612 persons including 316 from nearby 20 villages; LPU students; staff members; and, their family-members availed totally free of cost endeavour
  • LPU Uni-Hospital staff-members made arrangements for the care of outside patients

The School of Physiotherapy & Paramedical Sciences of Lovely Professional University and ‘World Cancer Care Charity’ (WCCC) organized one day ‘Early Cancer Detection & Education Campaign’ at LPU campus. 612 persons including 316 from nearby 20 villages; LPU students; staff members; and, their family-members availed totally free of cost opportunity. Providing great awareness to the unsuspecting people about the silently killing disease, the camp was facilitated through two air-conditioned Volvo buses fully equipped for initial medical tests and related help. Important tests for oral, dental, breast, intestine, uterus, prostate cancers were made along with diabetes, blood pressure and general check-ups. Uni-Hospital staff-members made arrangements for the care of outside patients. 

‘Loveshhuda’ Star-Cast enthralled LPU Students

  • Visiting actor  Girish Kumar and Music Composer & Director Parichay also interacted with students

‘Loveshhuda’ Star-Cast reached Lovely Professional University campus today to entertain and interact with students. For this, lead bollywood actor, hit romance comedy ‘Ramaiya Vastavaiya’ fame Girish Kumar was accompanied by Music Composer & Director Parichay. Stars invited students on the campus stage to dance, act and sing along with them. Students and members of staff also remained in great enjoyment during actor’s entire presence in the campus. Students from LPU School of Journalism & Film Production, and School of Fashion Technology had special interactions and discussions with the stars during press conference session held.

A delegation of high-ranked officers led by Executive Directors Mr T Hashimoto San and Mr R S Kalsi from Marketing and Sales division of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) reached Lovely Professional University. The delegation included Sr Vice President (Sales and Network) Mr Partho Banerjee, and Commercial Business Head, Nexa, Mr Rohit Agnihotri. Auto-Industry stalwarts interacted with LPU students and staff members and shared sagas of MSIL success and their great experiences of working and growth. Prior to this, Lovely Group Chairman Mr Ramesh Mittal, Vice Chairman Mr Naresh Mittal, and LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal welcomed elite visitors. LPU students too got a chance to accord traditional Punjabi welcome to the auto industry leaders from MSIL of Japanese origin.

LPU snatched Overall Championship Trophy from GNDU

  • 31st North Zone Inter-University Youth Festival ‘GoonJ’ was held at Punjab Agricultural University Ludhiana under the aegis of Association of Indian Universities
  • LPU students won overall first positions in the categories of Music, Theatre & Literary events
  • Also won gold medals for 8 cultural items including Folk orchestra, Mimicry, Mime, Elocution and more
  • LPU contingent of 40 students participated in 25 items and won 19 medals under different event categories

Lovely Professional University has lifted 31st Overall Championship Trophy of Association of Indian Universities’ (AIU’s) North Zone Uni-Fest which is the biggest event of the zone for further assuring  participation in national inter-university competition. Last year LPU had to be satisfied with being first runner-up; however, working hard LPU snatched overall trophy this time from yester-year’s winner Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar as this time GNDU stood second. The mega event was sponsored by Ministry of Youth Welfare & Sports, Government of India. LPU students won overall trophies in three categories of Music, Theatre & Literary events. The massive event was held at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, where LPU contingent of 40 students revealed their extraordinary talent in 25 items under and won 19 medals under different event categories.

‘Higher Education Review’ has declared Lovely Professional University as ‘University of the Year-2015’. Published on behalf of Siliconmedia Technologies (Bangalore), the coveted citation made under the signatures of Managing Editor of the magazine Mr Sandeep Sen is for LPU’s ‘Global Outlook’. The recognition illustrates that it is “in acknowledgement of the positive impact LPU has made on the society and the education fraternity”.

After spending three weeks of winter-vacation, thousands of Lovely Professional University students entered university campus to join new session in the New Year -2016.  Already having a unique scrutinizing process of their respective answer sheets by themselves; students are now joining their ‘Even Semesters’ (2nd, 4th, 6th or 8th) with new resolutions.  Getting results for last semester, students seem determined to improve upon their previous performances. In addition to final semester examinations of their respective years’ programs, this semester is going to be very important for students’ all academic, extra-curricular and allied activities. Students will also have to prove their potential in events like mega cultural fest ‘One India’, annual sports day, Go-Kart & Solar Car racing championships. LPU Architecture Students’ Housing in Space Idea awarded as the Best

  • Students won Overall Trophy of India's biggest national architectural festival-‘Archotsav’ for their ‘Space Transit Village’ project
  • Architecture students have applied all sciences including Physics, Robotics, Geometry, Bio-Technology, Environment and more in their planning
  • Project may prove first step of evolution for balance not only on Earth but in outer space also
  • In first instance, students designed housing in space for 40 people 

Lovely Professional University students of Architecture & Design have got first prize at India's biggest national architectural festival- ‘Archotsav’ for devising housing in space in the form of full-fledged ‘Space Transit Village’. The festival is supported by Council of Architecture (COA) and Indian Institute of Architects (IIA), and was held at Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. More than 100 reputed architectural institutions from all over India participated in this event.

LPU Agriculture & Bio-Sciences’ Students won 1st Prize at AIU's Research Convention- ‘ANVESHAN’

  • Association of Indian Universities (AIU) had organized two-day research convention of North Zone at ICAR-NDRI (Karnal)
  • Near 100 research scholars representing 20 universities of North Zone had showcased their research and findings

Lovely Professional University agriculture & bio-sciences students, Kunal Adhikary (B.Sc. Agriculture Hons 4th Year) and Amandeep Singh (M.Sc Chemistry 1st Year) have brought laurels to the university by winning first prize at Association of Indian Universities’ (AIU’s) North Zone Research Convention- ‘ANVESHAN’. LPU students’ innovative project on sewage water treatment & agro water utility has been acclaimed for its being cost-effective, eco-friendly, sustainable, and user-friendly. Near 100 research scholars representing 20 universities of Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh had attended the convention for competition, where students showcased their research works and findings. It is worth mentioning that except LPU students of graduation programs, all other students in  competition were research students on the verge of completing their Ph.Ds even from top agriculture universities of India.
