Tech Giant Google and Lovely Professional University have signed Memorandum of understanding (MoU) to offer courses with specialization in Android programming. For this, LPU is going to establish ‘Center of Excellence’ at its Campus, and this center will be counted among very few centers across the world. Android App is Google’s flagship product and the world's most popular mobile operating system. As for its recent usage, Android captures 40% of market share and its penetration in India is the highest. 

Students from 50+ Countries & 29 Indian States joining New Session at LPU

  • LPU has scheduled special 14-Day induction program for welcoming & easy accommodation of new students

Thousands of new students from different parts of the world and the country have got admissions at Lovely Professional University for new academic session 2016-17. In order to make these students start their new phase of academic journey in an easy and welcomed manner, LPU has devised a special 14-Day induction program. This year, students from 50+ countries including China, South Africa, Lesotho Kingdom, Maldives, Yemen, Mongolia & more, and all 29 Indian states are joining the university. During induction program, new students are being briefed about university systems, policies, support mechanisms and multi-ethnic campus life at LPU. Following the American system of induction program, students are being open to join many activities, fun-games, campus rounds & city tours. Many other ice-breaking sessions have also been chalked out to energize new students for exhibiting their potential.

Believing strongly that economic condition should not stop meritorious students in having quality higher-education; Lovely Professional University has been offering India’s largest private scholarship program. Advantage of this program has already been reached to 30,000+ meritorious students over the last 6 years. A student can avail up to Rs 6.5 lakh depending upon the program opted and the performance of the student in the last examination as the base of admission. 29 students from University of Cambridge, London School of Economics (LSE) & other top 16 Universities of United Kingdom are presently studying at Lovely Professional University. The UK students are at LPU under short term Exchange Programme to learn about India's role in International Relations.  LPU and British Council set this program under Government of UK’s ambitious Generation UK-India Programme.  Programme is aimed to build collaboration, engagement and trust between UK and India. The program is specifically designed which tells how India is not only collaborating with its neighbouring countries but has also developed relations with other countries of the world. It is important phase of India as Prime Minister Modi is both quantifying and qualifying relations with other countries continuously. So, the students are being taught through lectures, demonstrations, industry visits and excursions about the India and International politics, economy and more.

LPU provided 100% Scholarship to 21 Spinal Cord Injury affected Persons

  • Total 21 students join under this initiative
  • Their spouses & children will also get 50% scholarship to study at LPU 

Lovely Professional University has framed a ‘Free Education’ policy to ease the financial burden that so often comes along on an individual with Spinal Cord Injury (SCI).  From this session (2016-17) onwards, LPU has come forward to provide 100% scholarship to students affected with spinal cord injuries. In first instance, 7 such students have already joined LPU in the month of June and in second phase 10 students have taken admission today. They were invited at the campus and awarded scholarships by the Chief Guest of the occasion, ACP of Jalandhar Division Ms Deepika Singh and LPU Senior Dean Mr Lovi Raj Gupta.  ACP Ms Deepika Singh addressed the SCI affected students as real heroes and great source of inspiration for others. She said: “I praise LPU for taking a noble initiative which is sure to be followed by others in future and if these people need any help from us we are always ready to support them by giving extra time.” On this occasion SCIA President Parvinder Sonu and Vice President Davinder Singh were also present.

LPU Student represented Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports’ Delegation to China

One of the NSS volunteers and a B Tech Electronics & Electrical Engineering student of VII semester of Lovely Professional University, Nidhi Nayan visited China under International Youth Exchange Program (YEP) between India and China. The program was sponsored by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. Nidhi was part of 100-member delegation of Group 1 to China, which was selected from all across India. Under this program Nidhi visited the top cities of China including Beijing, Chengdu, Guilin, Guangzhou.

LPU trained Tibetan Secondary Schools’ English Teachers

  • Sharing social responsibility under its project ‘Disha’, LPU organized one-week pedagogy training   
  • Participants were nominated by the Department of Education of Central Tibetan Administration (DoE CTA) 
Lovely Professional University organized one-week pedagogy training for English Teachers of different Tibetan Secondary Schools. 26 Secondary English teachers from different Tibetan Society Schools participated in the training program. Sharing social responsibility under its project ‘Disha’, LPU empowered Tibetan schools’ teachers with smart teaching skills in English. Department of Education of Central Tibetan Administration (DoE CTA) had nominated the names of the participants for in-service training at LPU.

LPU Pro Chancellor honoured with prestigious ‘Rising Star of Asia’ Award

  • Award ceremony was held in Kyrgyzstan by Indian Organization for Commerce & Industry
  • Occasion was Indo-International Achievers Summit on ‘Individual Contribution for National Integration and world Peace’
Indian Organization for Commerce & Industry (IOCI) has honoured Pro Chancellor Mrs Rashmi Mittal of Lovely Professional University with prestigious ‘Rising Star of Asia’ Award. This honour is in recognition of Mrs Mittal’s outstanding achievements made in chosen field of activity and individual contribution for national integration and world peace. The award ceremony was organized by IOCI during its ‘Indo-International Achievers Summit’ held in Kyrgyzstan. Ambassador of India in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) His Excellency Mr Jayant Khobragade presented the award, medal and certificate of excellence. The dignitaries’ dais was also shared by Former President of Kyrgyzstan HE Mrs Roza Isakovna Otunbaeva, Deputy Minister (Tourism) HE Mr Zhamankulov Azamat Kaprovich and Former Diplomat Ambassador Dr VB Soni IFS.
