Open global fest “Youth-Vibe 2016” at Lovely Professional University is awakening thousands of students through competitions based on society needed projects and values in diverse fields. On fest’s 4th day, choreography, one act plays, skits, mimes and histrionics adopted diverse themes of awakening to sensitize the youth.  Ferocity of terrorism, corruption, indo-pak division, wars, greed, drugs usage, acid-attacks, molestation, and goodness of patriotism, martyrdom, women empowerment and more were the effective themes on which participants had worked conscientiously. Street dances, and other western, contemporary, free style forms of dances also made students compete with passion.

Five-Day open global fest “Youth-Vibe 2016” of Lovely Professional University organized 100+ technical competitive events, where students from across India and other countries participated passionately. Techno competitions were held under the title ‘Gyan Manthan’, which is a widened platform to provide students opportunities to showcase their talent in their respective academic and allied fields. During the concluding hours of the fest, LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal and Pro Chancellor Mrs Rashmi Mittal distributed cash prizes of more than Rs 20 lakh to the winners of different events. All of the participating students danced and sang together to exhibit unity in diversity and parted with a promise to meet again at Youth Vibe-2017.

Second Day of ‘Youth Vibe’ Fest witnessed 70+ Competitions at LPU

  • Mehndi competition under the theme ‘Mughlai Henna’ made the day of women participants on the auspicious ‘Karva Chauth’ day

The second day of global open fest ‘Youth Vibe-2016’ witnessed 70+ competitions today at different venues of Lovely Professional University. Different competitions were categorized as Social, Synchronocity (Music), B’Minds (Business), Vibgyor (Fine Arts), Brain Waves (Quiz), Confera (Dances), Robust Speakers (Literary) and more. For all competitions no less than 40 competing teams from far and wide institutions had registered. Mehndi competition under the theme ‘Mughlai Henna’ made the day of women participants on the auspicious ‘Karva Chauth’ day. Hundreds of sportsmen/women competed through cricket matches, volleyball game and sports quiz. Engineering students accepted challenges for tech solutions, civil engineering students revealed excellence in bridge designs, management students fought for case analyses and life style competitions brought forward Youth Vibe Roadies and models.

Team ‘Incredibles’ of KIET Ghaziabad declared Overall Winner of EFFICYCLE-2016 Competition held at LPU


  • Occasion was 7th season of LPU & SAENIS hosted green mobility endeavour Efficycle’2016
  • College of Engineering Pune & Government College of Technology Coimbatore declared 2nd & 3rd Winner respectively
  • Cash prizes of Rs 7 Lakh & Certificates were distributed to the winners  of different competitions 


Lovely Professional University & Society for Automotive Engineering-Northern India Section (SAENIS) hosted 7th season of green mobility competitive national event Efficycle-2016 was concluded today at LPU campus. Team ‘Incredibles’ of KIET Group of Institutions Ghaziabad is declared overall winner of the competition; whereas, teams from College of Engineering Pune & Government College of Technology Coimbatore are declared 2nd & 3rd Winner respectively. Cash prizes of Rs One lakh, Rs 75,000 & Rs 50,000 were awarded to these top three winners out of participating 105 teams. In all cash prizes worth Rs 7 Lakh and certificates were distributed to winning teams in different categories of the competitions.  Of these, 15 winning teams or individuals were awarded with cash prizes from Rs 10,000 to Rs 30,000 each for the Best Design, Innovation, Marketing Presentation, Acceleration, Utility, Gradient, Maneuverability, Durability, Slogan, Light Vehicle, Built up Quality, Faculty Adviser and the Best Girl participant.

This mega campus festivity is witnessing more than 50,000 students’ participation from 200 institutions of India and other countries. LPU Cultural Fest ‘Spectra 2016’ commenced with 3 Kms long Talent Caravan

Three-day annual cultural fest of Lovely Professional University ‘Spectra 2016’ commenced with 3 Kms long ‘Talent Caravan’ at LPU campus. The fest will witness 50+ massive competitions, where 3000 LPU students are to showcase their talent. The event is slated for 5 categories including music, dance, theatre, literary & fine arts. Acclaimed Judges invited from across India will evaluate participants’ performances. The event ‘Spectra’ is scheduled every year to identify the talent, particularly, of new students. Later on, these talented students are further guided to share bigger national level platforms, at the university, including Youth Vibe, One India, One World, Gyan Manthan and more. 

International Dances & Songs bid adieu to Cultural Fest ‘Spectra-2016’ at LPU

Annual 3-day cultural fest Spectra-2016 concluded at Lovely Professional University amid performances for international dances & songs by national as well as international LPU students. Along with thousands of national students, international students from 50+ countries also participated in large number to compete and imbibe the assorted cultures. On-looking students equally enjoyed and absorbed the true spirit of different musical forms be it Indian Kuchipuddi, Odissi, Bharatnatyam; Yemeni popular dance ‘al-Bara’; Maldivian ‘Bodu beru’; Sri Lankan ‘Kandyan’; Somali ‘Dhaanto’; the ‘Deuda’ dance of Nepal; Sudanese ‘Nuba Moro’; Rwandan ‘Intore’; ‘Jerusarema’ of Zimbabwe; or, Bhutanese ‘Rigsar’.

Three-day 19th Punjab State Special Olympics commenced at LPU

  • Event is Special Olympics for Children with intellectual development disabilities 
Special Olympics for children with intellectual development disabilities is an event which is great source of inspiration and morale boosting, even for able-bodied persons, as how to live life with miraculous positivity and determination. Parents of such children are also laudable for their unflinching efforts in raising them in versatile abilities to face the society with smiling faces in all confidence. Keeping this spirit up, three-day 19th Punjab State Special Olympics commenced at Lovely Professional University. Near 500 athletes of 46 special schools from all over the state are participating in various events including Basketball, Football, Low abilities Walks & Races, Skating, Shot put, Table Tennis, Badminton and more. 

Health Ministry of Punjab Government awarded LPU for its Blood-Donation Endeavours

  • LPU received Appreciation Award on National Voluntary Blood Donation Day held in Mansa (Bathinda)
Health Ministry of Punjab Government has awarded Lovely Professional University for its consummate blood-donation endeavours. LPU stands at 9th place in the whole of the state, amid 27 honoured organizations, by donating 1417 blood units. LPU received ‘Appreciation Award’ during a state level honouring ceremony held in Mansa (Bathinda) on National Voluntary Blood Donation Day-2016. Punjab State Blood Transfusion Council & Punjab State Aids Control Society had jointly invited all voluntary blood donor organizations, which arranged more than 1000 units of blood in the period of 1st September 2015 to 31st August 2016.

World renowned classical dancer and daughter to present President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee; Sharmistha Mukherjee visited Lovely Professional University, today, and interacted with LPU students. She shared her views about great Indian cultural heritage, liberty, democracy, innovation, learning, independence and passion to live life to the lees. She was at LPU to define “the role of youth in nation building”.  She said it vehemently that the need of the hour is to channelize youth energy of the country for constructive purposes. 

Two-time National Film Awardee Prabhu Deva visited LPU and gave Choreography Tips

  • Tollywood heart-throb Tamannaah, Bollywood actor Sonu Sood and Punjabi singer Malkit Singh also accompanied him
Widely acclaimed for his fast-paced dance moves, Prabhu Deva reached Lovely Professional University today and enthralled LPU students. Occasion was his exclusive visit to LPU Campus along with Bollywood & Tollywood heart-throb Tamannaah, actor Sonu Sood and singer Malkit Singh. The most popular choreographer, actor and film director in the entire Indian film industry, Prabhu Deva skilled LPU students with important choreography tips of his style and genre. LPU students also learnt much from him about Indian dance forms including ‘Bharatanatyam’, and western dance styles. Deva’s deft dance movements on the LPU stage transmitted mammoth energy among his student-fans, which made students’ legs thumping and pounding. Two-time national film awardee and many a times star screen & film-fare award winner, Prabhu Deva has also been honoured with the life membership of International Film and Television Research Centre of Asian Academy of Film & Television.
