LPU Cultural Fest ‘Spectra 2016’ commenced with 3 Kms long Talent Caravan


  • Fest to witness 3000 LPU students showcasing talent for 50+ competitions 
  • Eminent Judges from across India will evaluate students’ performances


Three-day annual cultural fest of Lovely Professional University ‘Spectra 2016’ commenced with 3 Kms long ‘Talent Caravan’ at LPU campus. The fest will witness 50+ massive competitions, where 3000 LPU students are to showcase their talent. The event is slated for 5 categories including music, dance, theatre, literary & fine arts. Acclaimed Judges invited from across India will evaluate participants’ performances. The event ‘Spectra’ is scheduled every year to identify the talent, particularly, of new students. Later on, these talented students are further guided to share bigger national level platforms, at the university, including Youth Vibe, One India, One World, Gyan Manthan and more. 
LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal motivated the participants and wished them to bring laurels to their respective schools and departments by exhibiting the best of talent potential. Mr Mittal shared: “In fact, annual event ‘Spectra’ is a fun filled competitive celebration. It is not only to entertain LPU students but also to enlighten & enhance their competitive spirit.”

Thousands of other on-looking students will also enjoy unique cuisines at food stalls specially raised by different LPU departments. Non Competitive performances, Chaupal: the Street Play, Rock band show and Down the street: Street dances are chalked out to attract on looking students immensely. Competitions under music category are going on for Classical Vocal, Instrumental (Percussion/ Non-Percussion), Folk Group Singing, Indian Group Song & Duet Singing, Western Solo Vocal. For dance, there are competitions for Nritya Natraj: Semi/classical, Just Duet: Classical / Semi Classical, Just Duet: Folk Dance, Folkhingam: International Group Dance, Dancing Soul: Folk and Virasat: Folk Group Dance, Western Free Style, the Dancing Messenger: Theme Choreography, Foot Loose: Western Group Dance and Rapstar.

For theatrics, competitions are- Kal, Aaj Aur Kal: the Skit, Beat Boxing, Nakalchee: the Mimicry and Mime.  Competitions for Spot Painting, Cartooning, Photography, Rangoli, 3D Rangoli & Doodling, Poster Making, Collage Making, Monochomtocity: Single Color Painting, Soap Carving/Photo framing/Paper Flower bouquet making, Rainbow: Water Color Mixture, Charcoal Portrait, Expression: Greeting Card Making and Installation will mark Fine Arts category. Literary competitions are the Perspective: Elocution, Quiz, Creative writing, Lord of the Words: Spell Bee, Turn Coat: Debate with self, and the News Nerd (English News reading).

School competitions are fun, watching them and even if you are playing a role in them, they are fun. Judges make them too competitive by giving their views on the talent in the individuals, we have always heard that talent can never be measured only seen, so best wishes to all the students from me and I will surely discuss it with others through my writing as I am an Assignment Assistance provider.
