The second day of global open fest ‘Youth Vibe-2016’ witnessed 70+ competitions today at different venues of Lovely Professional University. Different competitions were categorized as Social, Synchronocity (Music), B’Minds (Business), Vibgyor (Fine Arts), Brain Waves (Quiz), Confera (Dances), Robust Speakers (Literary) and more. For all competitions no less than 40 competing teams from far and wide institutions had registered. Mehndi competition under the theme ‘Mughlai Henna’ made the day of women participants on the auspicious ‘Karva Chauth’ day. Hundreds of sportsmen/women competed through cricket matches, volleyball game and sports quiz. Engineering students accepted challenges for tech solutions, civil engineering students revealed excellence in bridge designs, management students fought for case analyses and life style competitions brought forward Youth Vibe Roadies and models.
One of the contingents of scores of students from JSS Science and Technology University Mysore (Karnataka), which has excelled at 20th edition of IIT-Guwahati annual cultural Fest (Alcheringa-2016), is also earning many accolades at LPU Fest in different competitions. Its Environmental Sciences 3rd year student, Harsha Patil is very happy to participate in campus princess competition as she is already winner of this title at IIT Guwahati. She shares that girls must do as they wish instead of unnecessarily bearing any of the social pressures. Swati Singh and Avantika of Invertis University, Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh) are also elated to win many prizes. They are competing for five diverse competitions- Mehndi Designing, Debate, Card Making, Single Colour Painting and sports. Folk dances including Kalbelia, Bihu, Jhoomar, Bhangra, Malwai Giddha, Kajri, Choliya and more attracted the on looking students the most.
Competitions like Agri Mastero (Soil Sample Testing); Animate IT; Pharmafourth Estate; Design Extravaganza: Architecture; Bioview 2100 AD; Bridgeweb: The Bridge Design; Act as Teacher; Mehndi Designing; Nakalchee; Mighty Pen; Kalakaari; Vishleshan; Rapstar; FM Radio; Flavours; Folk Singing & Dancing; life style and more competitions truly represented their respective departments in true spirit in genre. Starting from Agriculture, Animation, Pharmacy, Architecture, Civil Engineering to Fine Arts, Hotel Management and more; students from each department could compete as per their particular talent.
